We have watched the idea of being “on-the-go,” transition from drive-ins and paper cups to now, purchases and payment on your mobile device. It seems to make sense if you take into the account the amount of time we are on our mobile devices, that face-to-face shopping experience may be coming extinct.
This has already been a rapid and increasing trend in the US. Mashable published an article at the end of August stating that by the end of the year mobile commerce sales could pass $25 billion in the United States, which is more than double in the first half of the year.
We are now seeing it slowly, but surely, expand with Canadian companies and the CMA wants you to make this transition now. The Canadian Marketing Association is holding a seminar on how your company can take this next step, and why it is so paramount that you take advantage of this trend. Some of the things you will learn:
- An in-depth overview of traditional payments and commerce ecosystem and how it evolves with mobile payments and commerce
- The principles of mobile payments and commerce from both a technology and business opportunity perspective
- The digital and mobile wallet landscape and what is required to gain successful ecosystem support from both consumers and merchants
The seminar is being held on November 7th from 9:00am-4:30pm. For information on the seminar learn more here.
