With hot, humid weather and a touch of rain, the 2018 Honda Indy Toronto was a very successful weekend! Running from July 13th-15th, the Honda Indy is an annual car racing event that draws huge crowds at the Canadian National Exhibition.
DRMG had another successful weekend at the Honda Indy this year. We partnered with our valued client, LA Fitness at our Money Saver tent to host some fun contests, engage in valuable discussions with small and medium business owners and enjoy the event with our valued clients! We had a group of dedicated volunteers helping out over the Indy weekend – making this event a true success. To get the excitement rolling, DRMG’s Money Saver and LA Fitness partnered on a contest for a chance to win a test drive with 1 of the 4 exotic cars or a 1 year membership to LA Fitness.
The Honda Indy raised nearly $90,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada over the duration of the weekend. This is thanks to all the racing fans for their generous contributions over the weekend, where all proceeds raised were matched dollar-for-dollar by Honda Canada Foundation. Dedicated to granting wishes for children living with life-threatening conditions, the money raised gives children an amazing opportunity to fulfil one of their life goals and dreams.
There were some big winners are the Honda Indy this year, Scott Dixon taking home the win, with Canadians Robert Wickens and James Hinchcliffe following close behind in third and fourth. Although Sunday’s race featured the most viewership, other races took place throughout the weekend. Be sure to check out the full list of time results and accumulated points of all the other races.
“Thank you to all of our dedicated race fans and festival-goers for attending. What a weekend! It was Honda Canada’s 10th year of involvement, and also the same for our team at Green Savoree Racing Promotions leading, organizing and growing this event.
This festival especially wouldn’t be possible without the support of more than 400 volunteers. We watched some exciting competition from beginning to end in all 10 races. Both the Honda Indy Toronto on Sunday cheering on three Canadian IndyCar drivers and Saturday’s Pinty’s Grand Prix of Toronto featuring the NASCAR Pinty’s Series had an equal amount of intense action.
Thanks to the support of our partners and their activations, the festival experience continues to magnify. We really had something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.”
