Toronto’s Honda Indy 2019
The Honda Indy is an annual car race held in Toronto at the Exhibition Place, featuring a 2.84km, 11-turn street course. This year’s event took place from July 12-14th and the city was buzzing. It was a hot weekend filled with world-class racing, international food, beer gardens, and live entertainment. In addition to the on-track action, the Indy offers many family and kid-friendly off-track activities!
DRMG’s Role & Contributions
DRMG has partnered with the Honda Indy as a sponsor for 3 consecutive years. We provide advertising, in both our Money Saver magazine and envelope products, to help boost ticket sales. DRMG had the Money Saver tent out again this year, and hosted some fun contests and activities. We had a group of committed volunteers helping out over the course of the weekend, enabling the success of this event. DRMG’s Money Saver hosted a contest for a chance to win a test drive with 1 of 4 exotic cars!
Successful Indy Weekend
This year marked the 10th consecutive year Make-A-Wish fundraising efforts were an integral part of the Indy weekend. The Honda Indy surpassed their fundraising goal, and raised $120,000 for Make-A-Wish-Canada! Thanks to all the racing fans for their generous donations, which were matched dollar-for-dollar by Honda Canada Foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been around since 1980 and is the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making wishes come true for over 480, 000 children. They believe wishes inspire children to battle through their medical struggles. They ensure each wish is tailored to the wish child, making the experience as unique and special as them.
Simon Pagenaud took the win this year, leading 80 of the 85 laps! Check out the full list of results from all the races over the Indy weekend click here.
